Operational Statement

The committee will publish a constantly evolving document which shall be known as: 'The Croydon Convention™'. The convention can be regarded as the authoritative statement of the current presentational rules which a writer must comply with in order to (truthfully) claim that they are writing in accordance with the rules of The Croydon Convention™ .

When additional pronouncements are required, the committee shall publish documents known as: ‘Proclamations of Key Issues Explained(s)’, which can be abbreviated to PoKIE(s)'. Each PoKIE shall be assigned a reference number and a date. For example: 'PoKIE-1 October 12025 HE'.

The Use of Copyright

The Croydon Convention™ is a gift to Humanity.

The CCCC claims copyright on all publications produced by that organisation for the purposes of promoting it’s objectives.

The Croydon Convention Consultative Committee Ltd claims the copyright for The Croydon Convention™, as a means of preventing any other person or organisation from claiming such copyright. This copyright shall be a rolling copyright that is renewed every time The Croydon Convention is updated, in accordance with the constitution of The CCCC.

It is permitted for other individuals to add to The Croydon Convention™, provided that the contribution is appropriately approved, in accordance with the constitution of The CCCC. Any person desiring to contribute to The Croydon Convention™, must agree to assign any copyright to The Croydon Convention Consultative Committee Ltd.

In view of the statement that: ‘The Croydon Convention™, is a gift to Humanity.’, no payment made with regard to any access to The Croydon Convention™ will be received by the founder of the organisation – Marcus Hilton or his heirs. People might have to pay associated costs such as printing, postage and packaging, together with publishers’ fees. Nevertheless, none of these monies will be payable to Marcus Hilton, his heirs, or his successors.

The fee for using The Croydon Convention™ will be the sum of one penny, (or the currency equivalent), paid to any registered charity of the choice of the fee payer, at some point during the existence of that fee payer. There is no need to apply to The Croydon Convention Consultative Committee Ltd for permission to use, access or reproduce The Croydon Convention™.
